Research themes
Research of the Darwin Center for Biogeosciences is centered around two themes:
Within each theme various spatial and temporal scales are considered. From the microbial or molecular scale up to the scale of the whole System Earth, in different time frames. The development and validation of a wide range of biological and geochemical proxies will enable us to reconstruct (past) biogeochemical cycles and assess the impact of (abrupt) change on biodiversity patterns.
